Face-to-face classes

Do you want your child to learn the joys of cooking?
Join our children's baking class where they can learn to make delicious food while having fun!

Cooking is an essential skill that unfortunately is not taught as frequently in schools as it used to be 20 years ago. However, cooking with children offers more than just the ability to prepare food.
At each stage of development, children can learn various things from cooking. For preschoolers, it teaches them valuable skills such as counting, sharing, taking turns, and following instructions. These abilities don't come naturally to every child, and cooking allows them to practice. They also get to work on their gross motor skills, and with the use of safety knives, they can even develop some fine motor skills. For primary-aged children, cooking becomes an opportunity to build on their knowledge and independence. They learn how to use the right tools for specific tasks, improving their fine motor skills while chopping with knives and cutting with scissors. Additionally, they can also apply reading, math, and scientific reasoning skills during the cooking process.
We have openings available for children of all ages and skill levels. Our classes are designed to be interactive and hands-on, enabling children to actively participate in the creation of their food. In addition to learning how to bake, they will also acquire important life skills like teamwork and responsibility.
I conduct these sessions from my home in West Hunsbury, Northampton. My kitchen is specially designed to accommodate small groups of children cooking together. Each session lasts between 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the complexity of the recipe we tackle.

Enrol your child today and give them the chance to learn a new skill, unleash their creativity, and have fun in the kitchen! Our classes fill up quickly, so don't hesitate – sign up today and join the excitement!

“My 3 year old son and I attended today for our 1st session. My little one had a wonderful time and he actually tried a new food which for him is very rare. Maria was fantastic with all the children and explained and encouraged them at every step. We will be attending again and I highly recommend this group if you too have a fussy eater like my little one. We look forward to next week and making something new. Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome!!”

"I’d highly recommend Maria, My Daughter has been (now 5) and now my son (3), My son has always been fussy with food, these classes have helped broaden his tastes as well as learn to mix, tickle the ingredients and clean up. Maria has a lovely way with the children to engage them and involve them. Highly recommend these classes for so many different reasons 😊👍."

I highly recommend these classes. I took my pre schooler (aged 3) and he loved them. A small intimate group, simple recipes to cook, and great that they have a chance to try different, more unusual foods during the session too.

"We have just got home after a fabulous morning baking flapjacks! I have two autistic children and Maria was fabulous with them! My oldest was adamant he didn’t want to join in! Maria was lovely he came around in the end! We will definitely be back xx."
